The history of the journal "Medical Journal" begins in 2002, when the publication was registered with the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus, until 2005 it was published under the name "Belarusian Medical Journal". Over the years of its existence, the journal has gained the status of an authoritative scientific periodical publishing original and review articles on medical and biological topics. In 22 years, 92 issues of “Medical Journal” have been published, more than 3,300 scientific articles, information, analytical and factual materials have been published. Since the first issues, “Medical Journal” has been peer–reviewed and is included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus for publishing the results of dissertation research for the degree of Candidate and Doctor of Sciences. The journal publishes articles by leading scientists and specialists from the Republic of Belarus, CIS countries and far abroad. Throughout the years of the journal's existence, the main principle of the issue formation has been the careful selection of the manuscripts most important for the development of medical science and clinical practice. The articles are selected according to the criteria of novelty, relevance, scientific and practical significance, and the possibility of real use of the proposed new technologies in practical healthcare. The editorial policy of “Medical Journal” is aimed at the dissemination and exchange of scientific knowledge, expanding cooperation with national and foreign scientific, clinical and educational institutions in order to deepen integration in the field of medical research.
